Just a quick question can anyone suggest a good extended warranty for a TomTom Xl live,I can get one from Argos for £54 as they have an offer this weekend and I have 45 days in which I can get this as I purchased the unit from there.I had to send my TomTom one back 3 times for a faulty battery, which is my main reason to get another warranty,
Many Thanks, |

Sorry, can't help.
It must be a zillion years since I last fell for the sales pitch of extended warranty. How come you needed extended warranty to cover three times faulty battery? Surely it failed during the manufacturer's warranty period - or it had reached the stage of worn out due to fair wear and tear? Three times? Each time after the normal warranty period for parts/repairs ended?. How old was the ONE by the time the third replacement battery came along?
So I'd love to know why you think extended warranty is desirable? The device comes with 12 months warranty and how long will it last. It cost you what? About £200? Of course, we all make our own judgements in such matters, but I'd be really interested to hear your thinking. _________________ Dennis

I'd save your money, read the small print very carefully. Put your £54 in a pot ready for if anything goes wrong, e.g. expensive repair, then put it towards a new one. If it's more than £100 pay by Credit Card and they extend the warranty by a year. And don't forget your house contents insurance will probably cover you for theft or loss. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
