|
|
Hi all, can anyone explain how I go about loading/saving a poi icon? I have several that show up as a red spot, I would rather have a custom icon for them.
Is it as easy as taking a jpeg.gif image and renaming it with the poi name or am I missing something? how do I associate the icon to the poi file in other words?

No an expert on this - so only part of an answer.
I think they have to be a 22 x 22 pixel size.
They have to be .bmp files and they have to be the same name as the .ove file.

253 is spot on, they must be bitmaps with .bmp extension and the name must match the OV2 filename ... You'll have bandk.ov2 and bandk.bmp.
Check some of the other bmp icon files on your XXL - 22x22 is OK. _________________ Dennis

What? The pixel size?
If so, then 22x22 has always been the standard icon size. Newer models can also accept 24x24 pixels, and upto 44x44 for the optional double sized version used in the top left corner if you have "warn when near" enabled. |

Nope.
It USED to be bigger, and it was either scaled up from the standard icon or you could use a double-sized icon (same name but with "x2" at the end) in order to get better resolution (it looked less "blocky")
Since v8 software however, they added the frame and pointer round the icon, and the overall size of the one in the top left corner has reduced. |

NOT almost, completely right. And being first in competition with blokes like the other respondents takes some doing, good grounds for ..... _________________ Dennis
