I have a TomTom one that was working perfectly fine. Went to use it the next time and it wouldnt switch on! I have tried removing the card and resetting, to no avail!
When i connect it to the computer it doesnt recognise the device! Have tried 2 computers with the same result!
When i plug it in to charge, the green light is very very dim and not bright like it usually is!
Any suggestions? Cant seem to get anywhere with it!
Thanks |

Sorry, no good suggestions....
Could be the charger has failed and blown it up.
Any possibly you used a different charger (with a higher output voltage) by accident and blew it up? |

Hi
No, only the proper TomTom in car charger has been used. Have tried another TomTom charger too with no luck!
Thanks |

My mate's old ONE V1 did something similar a while back.
I got it back on by connecting the charger, pressing paperclip into reset & holding down the ON button all at the same time.............worth a try??? |

Which version of the ONE have you got? If it's the One IQ, then it does not have a paper clip reset, you have to hold down the On/Off button for about 30 seconds for a reset. You could try that
Can't suggest the usual 'fixes' and suggest that Andy's comments are more pertinent. Have you asked TT Support _________________ Gee-Pee

Have just tried as suggested above, to no avail!
Just spoken to TomTom and they "think" it may be a USB plug problem, but pay them around £75 and they will sort it out! |

You could buy a brand new one for less than TT are asking to have a look at it. (Assuming it is a Regional version.) Maybe it is retirement time for it, unless you can make a noise with TT & get a better offer See if they will take it in Part/Ex for a new one. Sorry..... _________________ Gee-Pee
