|
|
Hi
I have had an Insignia demonstrator for the weekend fitted with the DVD 800 satnav. I got no instructions but the DVD in the case is by Navteq.
I wondered if anyone knows much about this system and how easy it is to add further POI's. In the past the standard ones have been useless on TomTom etc which I have used in the past. I expect not to be abloe to add the speed cameras but additional POIs with customisable icons would be good. |

No one got an answer for this yet. I've just ordered an Insignia with the 800 and the camera system and want to know if I need something else to warn me about cameras (iPhone perhaps ;)

|
|
Hi, I'm just buying one as well.
The demo car has POI's on the DVD like hotels etc. so it must be possible - it's a case of finding out from Navteq how. I know Navteq are looking at developing a camera POI option (according to Vauxhall) but it will no doubt be a while and a cost per month for updates.
If you find anything out I'd like to know - admin edit: email address removed, please post responses in the forum
thanks |

Unless it has a USB port or SD card slot then it is highly unlikely that it supports custom POIs.
The POIs supplied come with the map and are no indication of POI support.
Few manufacturer fit systems fully support custom POIs and fewer still support POI warnings. _________________ Darren Griffin |

That is a start but it may just be for .mp3 players. Does the manual mention anything about importing/uploading POI data at all? _________________ Darren Griffin |
