|

I have just started using Sygic Memory Maps. One thing that is irritating is the warning screen that comes up when you first start. I thought I read somewhere on PGPSW that you can edit a file to remove this, but I looked and could not find it again
Anybody know if this can be done please? _________________ Peter

On my N97 I found that I needed to change the entry:
"showSafetyMsg=true"
to
"showSafetyMsg=false"
within the file:
Mass Memory\Drive\Symbian_Touch\Settings.ini
I presume the exact location of the file will vary depending upon OS and installation location. _________________ Kam |

thanks for your help. I should really have said that I have installed this on a an HTC Hero running Android, as i guess that may make a difference!
Using your guidance I found the file "Settings" in Drive/Android, but my file reader (Astro File Manager) is reporting "file type dat no found" and "file type ini not found". So I can't open or edit it. Anybody know of an Android app that will let me do that - it needs to be simple to use otherwise I could end up ruining the thing! _________________ Peter

Yes, i see that there is a file in the location you specify which contains the same field. Are you able to sync your phone with, or copy the file to, a desktop computer, edit it on that, and then copy it back? That's how I edited mine. _________________ Kam |

thanks - it is easy when you know how isn't it?
That worked with Android as well. The only problem at first was that I did not notice that this entry appears twice, I only changed the 1st one and wondered why it did not work. As always I kept the old file just renamed it (just in case I mucked it up).
Again many thanks. Only goes to show what a great community PGPSW is. _________________ Peter

Just tried it on my Windows Mobile HTC HD2. I see there are seperate folders in Drive for Symbian, Android and WM. Changed the entry in settings.ini in the WM folder - only found one entry - and, so far, it seems to be working.
Thanks |
