|
|
Last Friday my Nuvi traffic system was working on the way to work. A journey of 65 miles (Stroud to Abingdon). However it did not work on the way home!
I tried re-scanning but still no joy even though the green LED is green??
On Saturday a message appeared saying something like "unable to find traffic would you like to search for a new subscription..." I imputed 'yes' but still no traffic and the icon remains greyed out.
Still not working on Sunday. It's like my subscription has run out... even though I have a lifetime subscription!!
Does anyone have any ideas about how to get it working again? |

Same problem on my Nuvi 255T and also on my Audi Sat Nav system, both use the RAC-Trafficmaster sytsem as opposed to the ITIS system. I think there is a fundamental problem with Trafficmaster sending data to radio broadcasters and I have e-mailed them this morning to enquire as to when the problem will be fixed |

Both the Garmin and the Audi now seem to be recieving TMC data again, so the service seems to be restored |

I too think there is a problem with TrafficMaster at the moment as I have had 'perfect' reception for a few months now and yesterday and this morning nothing - not changed / updated anything on the Nuvi so suspect the signals have stopped. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

I have asked a friend to check traffic on their Navman with Trafficmaster and they are getting traffic info, so it looks more like a Garmin issue. What version of GTM software are you using? Could it be the free subscription to traffic master isn't being recognised? |

As I said in my post above, the Garmin is now working again so it clearly was a Trafficmaster issue which has now been resolved. Suggest you try again and see if it connects. I did also just do a full software update from the Garmin website and one of those updates is for TMC so if you haven't done a software update for a bit it is probably worth doing |

Well my Nuvi 660 still won't get any traffic info - I have updated to the latest software and reception is fine. Anyone else having the same problem? |

Could be location based issue, ie they have restored service in London area but not in Buckingham. Trafficmaster use local commercial radio to transmit data rather than Classic FM which is used by ITIS. Is your friend with Navman in same geographic area? Also according to the Navman site they receive data from ClassicFm rather than GMRadio and therefore this would suggest it is the ITIS solution and not the Trafficmaster one. so this might explain why his is working and your's is not. Although Garmin is also listed as a customer of ITIS which is a bit confusing as they seem to be customers of both suppliers, perhaps it varies depending on which device you have |

Yes he is in the same area. Made a mistake though he has a Medion unit. Not sure whats going on with traffic reception on my unit. Do other people have the same problem still?
Does anyone know what the Tm TMC (£) service is - that is listed under the traffic icon? Is it a service from Trafficmaster you pay for? |

Medion does seem to take the Trafficmaster service so it is odd that he has it working and you don't. As to the TMC (£) I think this is a way for those whose system did not come with lifetime service included to gain access to a service having paid TM for a licence and been given a PIN code. You shouldn't need it assuming your system came with a lifetime subscription |

Nuvi working tonight so it must have been a FM traffic system problem that made it impossible to receive traffic data!
I felt very lost without being able to see the traffic conditions on my route. Anyway I'm a happy person now... |

My return journey this evening also had TM signals all the way - as I hadn't done anything to the Nuvi, it must have been a TM signal / coverage issue but all seems fine now. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80
