What utility did you convert the wav files with? What attributes did you set in doing the conversion (eg frequency) or did you just do a straight conversion without setting any values up for anything? Can you check with the utility what attributes your wav sounds have?

Sorry if you were expecting answers! Evil or Very Mad

Used Audacity to convert, just opened mp3 file and exported as wav to a wav folder the copied into garmin folder. wav file is 32 bit float, 22050hz

Have also put sox. exe file back into garmin poi loader folder and still unable to run loader as it keeps asking if i want to run sox.exe file then nothing happens, just keep getting do i want to run sox.exe constantly!! now baffled Confused

My wav files (converted with Audacity), are 32 bit float, Mono, 44100Hz. They work fine.

You might want to adjust your settings to agree.

(It's tedious that everybody has to do their own conversions, I know).

Dales.

Governor321 - I take it that you took on board Gardelas' point about sox - NOT to use the latest version (presumably that caused problems)?

'Just for a laugh' - what happens to POILoader if you click 'No'? (Presumably it just exits.)

See if you can get hold of the Beta POILoader some people are using, or reload the current version again, just to see if that changes anything.

As you can see, I'm a bit stuck for ideas Sad .

You say that POI loader freezes. Well in normal operation it can seem that way, even though all is well. The POI loader just sits there, apparently doing nothing, for a minute or so until the operation is complete, and then it announces: Congratulations POIs loaded.
Try just letting it run for a while.

Also, be sure your wav's are Mono - apparently it won't work if they are stereo.

Links to the Beta loader 2.4.0.0 are plentiful on Google, but a working link is not easy to find. Most people seem to find success with the most recent loader - they just delete the existing one and download it again. That seems to fix it for them.

To confirm, the sox goes in the same folder as the POI loader, not the speed cameras folder.

There's a bit more commentary here that may be of some help.

Dales.
