Having installed voice alerts on the camera database, I find that on occasions voice alert comes on when I am level with, or sometimes past, the camera it is supposed to warn me of. Is this normal, and if not, how do I cure it? |

I can't help with that, so hang in there for a Garmin Guru to come along. _________________ Dennis

Whilst we wait, are these any particular cameras or is it random?
Obviously the alerts are designed to oocur before you reach the camera otherwise there wouldn't be much point. Bit like having my Mother In law navigating when she says "You should have taken that left back there"...
If you are loading the files with POILoader are you using the Express option or have you tried to manually configure the warning distances yourself? |

Hello Paul.
I am using the POI Loader and the recommended Express method. |

Thanks.
Does this only occur with particular camera locations, all camera locations or is it random?
Have you tried reloading the database?
How many other POI categories do you have loaded apart from the camera database?
Have you tried it with just the camera database installed as large numbers of POIs seem to slow the units down? |

Again, I'm not a Garmin user, so can't be specific, but on TomToms the navigation voice seems to take priority over any warning voices loaded, so sometimes they have to wait until the normal voice has stopped rabbiting! |

Hi Paul/Andy.
I've only got camera database and voice alerts loaded.
The late alerts appear to be random, Andy is correct because navigation voices do override the warning voices.
Also, I've just realised that the trial Cyclops alerts are still on the device. Could this be having an effect on the warning voices? |

Possibly as if an alert comes from the Cyclops database it'll probably delay the PGPSW alert.... |
