|
|
Last night I had an email service update from TomTom Quote: | We're emailing to tell you that a new and improved version of TomTom HOME is now available to download.
This version brings you:
Our latest free software update, that will improve your safety alerts on your device and maximises your battery's life.
A direct link to our new improved on-line route planner.
And of course a wealth of free content; daily map corrections with Map Share™ , funny voices, start up screens and much more. | I had already downloaded the Beta version of HOME v2.7, but the email is offering me v2.6 and I wonder what Quote: | Our latest free software update, that will improve your safety alerts on your device and maximises your battery's life | might be because HOME isn't offering me any updates.
This looks to me to be weeks or months out-of-date, unless anyone knows better please?
BTW I already had Kate on my device but was offered, and downloaded, her again when I went to update my device. I assume it's a new version. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Just ignore it all - it's what you get from TT Spam and for using Home. Just keep an eye open on this forum for threads about new Navcore versions, new Home versions and new maps and see what they have to say if any "new" versions are later than what you already have. _________________ Dennis

Can someone please explain what on Earth 'Home' could do to improve a TomTom's battery life?
'Cos I'm struggling! |

Isn't that where they changed the thing to not tell you your battery is running out? Or is it that they have changed the change which told you your battery was running out before it ran out. Or was it that they changed the change which told you when your battery wasn't running out? But only when you didn't have the device connected to Home (or only when you did have the device connected to home, BUT not switched on)? _________________ Dennis

Doesn't it maximise your battery life by charging it up a bit when you are connected to the computer (and using Home)? _________________ Paul |

I read that message as Home brings you the latest software update (as in Go Operating System) and this software update improves the safety warnings and battery life.
Then I don't know why an earlier version of Home would not download the same software update for the Go. _________________ Drivelux |

Sounds to me like it will turn your TT off as soon as you start moving. That'll stop you being distracted and prolong battery life. |
