Is it worth putting a card in the SD slot?

My TT One XL has a slot for an SD card, but functions without one. Is there any benefit to installing one? The slot must offer some benefit, but at the moment I can't see what. What could I do with an SD card in the slot?

If your device is running low on available space or you want to add another map for an upcoming trip then consider a 2GB card for the device, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Unless you need more storage capacity than is available from the built in memory there is little point in using a memory card - Mike
