|

Hi. I have a problem when I have planned a route. I go to "Brows Map" and as I click down to check the route it keeps resetting saying "Route Changed" and going back to the beginning. Is there a way of stopping this happening please.

Do you also have traffic on your unit and under planning preferences did you say 'ok' if it asked to reroute you if there was a traffic problem on route? _________________ David |

Do you have a satellite lock and are you on a road at the time?
Mine does the same in the car park at work until I get on to a nearby road. |

Thanks for the replies. I am always out of the car when I check the route.

I live near a couple of road junctions. When I'm browsing at home, my position jumps around from street to street. So my start position is always changing and the device is recalculating.
The overall route stays generally the same though. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I must admit that I am more annoyed by the "Route Changed" than actually seeing a change in route. When you are half way down checking a route and then it resets it really annoys me. Oh well!!!

If your home location was marked as the actual location of the house, it won't lie on the road. but possibly between two.
Therefore it only takes a small positional error for it to jump from one road to the other.
If you relocate your home position so it is right on the road, it might help. |

Or try using the prepare route option and set your home as the start point?
It sounds like the start point keeps moving so it keeps recalculating. |

It's in Change Preferences (page 2 on my Go720)...... "Change home location".
you can then choose any of the normal options you get in "Navigate to..".
I would scroll forward to the second screen and choose "point on map", so you cn prod the screen just where you want it to be. |

From a security point of view, you should always have your "home" as somewhere on your street, or nearby. It stops someone from taking your keys and using your satnav to drive straight to your house. |

I'm never sure about this. There are plenty of other ways to be burgled.
Someone sees you leaving your house and locking up
Someone knocks on your door and gets no response
etc
Even if someone gets your keys and sat nav i can't see the first thing someone is going to do it go straight to your house and rob it. What if after getting there someone's in?
Also a thief might already have someone else's sat nav and nick your wallet and keys. If you have your drivers license or anything else with your address on it then they can just do the same.
I know it has happened once (family was robbed on holiday thieves went to their house, broke in, found keys to their second car and drove away in it.) but i don't think it's a big worry. |
