I have two TomToms, a 300 and a 500, both of which still work perfectly and both of which I am still very happy with. (I am not bothered about all the new fancy options on the newer models).
Both of these TTs have always been registered to me with TomTom.
I remember that the 500 (I think) originally had a "new map voucher" included in the box, which I was able to download and use when it was eventually released, after a few months delay.
Then, after reading in these forums, I discovered that I was able to also "install" this same "free" map onto my other TT, after waiting exactly one week. (After that it would have entailed waiting six months I believe).
I am about ready to upgrade to a new map from TomTom, and would like to know if I will be able to do the same as I did with that "free" map?
That is, buy the one map for one of my TTs, then "re-register" (if that's the term) the new map with my other TT after waiting one week again, so as to have the same new map installed onto both my TTs, (without having to buy two maps)?
Thanks for any help in advance. _________________ Tom Tom Go 500/300 (both) v7.903

No. Whilst as you found out, it was technically possible to install on up to three devices using TomTom's previous activation methods, this was a breach of the licence.
The new system which requires maps be bought and downloaded within the HOME app locks the map to the device it is bought and installed upon, it cannot be installed on multiple devices. _________________ Darren Griffin

Sorry, no. A map is locked to a specific device when installed. You can't share maps between devices, even 2 of the same model. _________________ David
