Out for a day trip yesterday, I found that my TT LIVE services had expired which given I'd asked for cancellation so I can buy the 12 month sub, was fine. (I was offered a renew option on the road at £7.99, but didn't take it). Anyway, when checking my phone SMS messages, I found that as well as the SMS texts on the phone, I also had two more. One said my LIVE subscription was going to expire in 2 days, and the other said it had expired. These must have been sent to the TT SIM, but there was no clue that they were waiting.
FWIW, signing up for a year of LIVE using Paypal was easy and worked well, back in the office in Home. |

When a message is received like this on the device you usually get a blue ballon type symbol top left of the screen, pressing this lets you see the message - Mike |

I think I've seen that balloon for phone messages once. I guess that the fact that the device was turned off when the messages were sent probably affects how they happened. Also possible that the balloon appeared during my setup session the night before, and then didn't re-appear the following day.
But it may be useful to know they can exist, and are a place to go look. |

When my live services were cancelled as the credit card had expired and there is no option on line or over the phone to update it, I received no message to the unit but emails to my account address. Oddly my services were due to expire on 8th June but TomTom ceased them on the 17th May. I thought it was not worth disputing this with TT as someone would probably have messed up my services altogether. I just bought a years worth at the discount.
Also I now get whenever I try "download more" in Live Services the message " You need a subscription for this TomTom Service (your current subscription may have expired). Visit www.tomtom.com for more information.
I can download HD Traffic, Mobile Camera Updates, Weather, Buddies, Fuel Prices, Quick GPS Fix & Google, so I do not know why I get this message. _________________ Drivelux |

Hmm, I too thought my subscription was supposed to go on longer. But I don't think they took the last money, so I wasn't too bothered. Sounds like that part doesn't quite work properly... |

You can check the expiry date on the unit.
Touch screen, TomTom Services, Page 2 of 2, My Services
This page will give you the expiry dates.

Indeed, and I'm fairly sure they were later than it actually expired. But who makes a note of such things? |
