Mapping Software, PC
Recently I acquired the Satmap 10 and mapcards.
I am looking to get some mapping software such as Tracklogs or Anquet. Can anyone suggest which is most suitable working with the Satmap?
Then I also need to buy a PC to load the mapping software into. Any ideas there of what I would need in terms of useful performance or models?

Nothing more than a very simple PC or Laptop will offer you what you need, consider the online Satmap route planner as it is very good and 100% compatible, but it does need the PC interface and internet connection.
I assume you are posting this question from either a mates PC or your mobile phone? - or do you have an internet connection available, if so there are a number of options open to you for route planning, none should require the purchase of a PC unless you are running nothing but MAC kit, and even then there are options available - Mike |

Agree that you don't need the fastest gaming pc for mapping software to work, but the more RAM you have the better from my experience with Anquet. I use 2Gb. (which I have used satifactorily with the Satmap as well as the online routeplanner - though I haven't coupled either together a lot so hesitate to recommend strongly). |

thankyou for the feedback. So if I understand correctly I can use the Satmap online route planner instead of, for instance, Anquet? I will register to use it and see how it works.
The PC I used is a friend's so I really need to get my own in the near future but it seems I need just 2Gb to come clear.
