Garmin i3 strange name

A friend of mine asked if I could help him update his Garmin i3.

I registered an account for him on the Garmin web site / MyGarmin, and the account shows the unit as below;

STPi3,Intl,UK&Ireland

Now I have 3 of them. On my own account all mine are show as:

StreetPilot i3, UK & Ireland

Just wandered why his was different

as a side issue, you don't need to register on mygarmin for updating the devices? well, i never have and have never had any issues..!

as for the name.. erm... no idea! sorry!

Is it one of the later ones with maps on internal memory and therefore doesn't need the MicroSD memory card? - Mike
