Andrew Seybold Chooses TeleNav Shotgun(TM) as a Finalist in the 2009 Andrew Seybold Choice Awards
SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/11/09 -- TeleNav, the largest wireless navigation services provider in North America, announced today that TeleNav Shotgun, a two-way, Internet-connected GPS personal navigation device (PND) for business travelers, has been selected as a finalist for the 'Most Innovative Mobile Device' in the 2009 Andrew Seybold Choice Awards.
Launched last November, TeleNav Shotgun leverages the wireless network to provide real-time, connected features for business travelers including traffic alerts, Internet content (maps and business listings), gas prices and business reviews. With TeleNav Shotgun, users have access to up-to-date information, can preplan trips online and can download and export data such as mileage driven each trip.
"TeleNav Shotgun represents the next generation of GPS devices," said Seybold. "The killer app for wireless this year is connectivity. Connectivity creates a two-way, interactive environment, allowing for customers to easily choose information that is relevant to them and delivered when and how they need it. TeleNav has leveraged its expertise in GPS connected navigation on mobile phones to bring a superb connected navigation experience on a standalone GPS device."
In 2002, Seybold, a well-known and well-respected wireless industry analyst, established the Andrew Seybold Choice Awards to recognize the accomplishments of companies developing leading-edge technologies, devices, services, and applications that will change the way people view and use wireless in their everyday lives.
"It's quite an honor to be recognized by Mr. Seybold and his team," said HP Jin, president, CEO and co-founder of TeleNav. "Through TeleNav GPS Navigator on mobile phones, we have established the power of connected navigation. With TeleNav Shotgun, we are proving that this power can be available on other devices as well."
This year's Andrew Seybold Choice Award recipients will be announced at the prestigious invitation-only Andrew Seybold Wireless Dinner on April 1, 2009, at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
