Picked up a copy of the new Tesco Direct catalogue at the weekend and notice that it features two new S series models - the S100 and S300, shown as available from mid October. They are on the Tesco website too.
Look very like the new Mio models (no surprise there I suppose) and both seem to feature 3D mapping and local search.
Strangely no info at all on Navman's site, or indeed here on PGPSW! |

Apparently known as the Navman S300 & S100 Mermaid* series. Navman used (still have) a S300 which was a speed and distance monitor for skaters, which is now obsolete.
Price quoted for new devices are £200 and £250 (rounded). So far specs are sparse.
*Wonder if the new "Mermaids" can be used underwater _________________ Gee-Pee

We know of them but aren't even getting to see them until next week. As we have no information apart from an invite to the preview there is nowt to report as yet!
Tesco appear to have let the cat out of the bag! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Forgive my ignorance but would that be the 300 & 310 ?
Aside from that, is this (the leak) a case of the oft used deliberate "accidental" leak, common nowadays
I also note that the recent Mio devices seem to have done away with 'free' TMC services and provide a 1 year free sub to the service thereafter a subscription service...could we expect the same here ?
Personally, I am happy to have TMC on a device if it is free but if I had to pay for it, I think it is of insufficient value to justify added cost. _________________ Gee-Pee

Interesting specs. Better sized screens than the Navman specs on Tesco. Better more up to date mapping than Navman and the prices for the top specs in Euros slightly better, so why don't I buy in mainland Europe ?
That's just the first impressions. I'll have to do some research when the Navman details are known. _________________ Gee-Pee

Let's hope you (PGPSW) can get your hands on one soon and include that in your review. _________________ Gee-Pee

"Mio extends the Moov product range by launching the 4.7” Moov 500 series"
And what about these...are you likely to review them? _________________ Gee-Pee

AIUI, going forward Navman is the brand in the UK with Mio branded devices reserved for other territories? _________________ Darren Griffin |
