Is there a way of adding new categories to the Overlay list?
The Walking World overlay import on the Memory Map web page
http://www.memory-map.co.uk/share_routes_ww.shtml
adds new categories (for how difficult the walks are), how is this done, I can not see a way to do this?

Good question. Was going to ask the exact same thing myself having seen the Walking World overlays.

Hi All
Don't know if this is the official way of doing it, but it works for me!
1. Click Properties button (or click Overlay menu, then Properties)
2. Select the track or route you want to apply a new category to.
3. Click on the text in the Category drop down menu, it will automatically be highlighted.
4. Press Del or Backspace to delete.
5. Type in new Category name.
6. Click Close.
When you go back into the Properties you will see the new category. I think this would work for other items such as Positions, Marks and Waypoints.
Hope this helps.

Yes that is the way that I have just discovered Pity that there is nothing in the help file, especially as it is a new feature.

Oooops ... sorry MM it is the help file. It states
"Category: Used to group overlays. You can select an existing category, or create a new one by typing in the Category control. Objects are organized by category in the Overlay Properties dialog, and you can show all or hide all objects belonging to each category (from the Show All or Hide All commands in the Overlay menu)."
So it is the official way to do it.
