|
|
Following an earlier announcement that the acquisition of Tele Atlas by TomTom has been concluded comes news of Management changes to reflect the new group structure.
The majority of the announced and proposed changes are to be expected now that TeleAtlas is to become a part of the TomTom organisation and are part and parcel of the integration of the two management structures. The key changes are:- Alain De Taeye will step down as CEO and member of the Board of Management of Tele Atlas
- TomTom proposes to appoint Alain De Taeye as a member of the Management Board of TomTom
- Tele Atlas proposes to appoint Bill Henry as CEO of Tele Atlas
- The Supervisory Board of TomTom will propose the appointment of Ben van der Veer as new member of its Supervisory Board
- George Fink will step down as a member of the Management Board of Tele Atlas and resign his position of President and COO of Tele Atlas
- Alexander Ribbink will step down as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the Management Board of TomTom on his own request
The announcement that Alexander Ribbink is to step down comes as a great surprise, Alexander has been with TomTom for 5 years and seen the company grow from a very small operation to the industrial Goliath it is today. All of us wish him well in his future endeavours. _________________ Darren Griffin

Well there are many interested parties who care a great deal. TomTom have spent a vast amount of money in acquiring TeleAtlas, the profit on unit sales is lower than it has been historically and the market is becoming much more difficult than it has been to date.
This could be the best move TomTom have ever made but it is a gamble and could be the beginning of the end if it all goes wrong! _________________ Darren Griffin |

As they are dong New for Old on the board
-- how about Old for New -- with our Tom-toms --- having been a loyal Tom-tom Classic person for 5 years -- how about a trade in deal for all of us old Tom-Tom Classics..
I love my Classic.. but would love an upgrade ...
If the phones can do it why not Tom-tom..

I wonder if they read these boards --
HOW ABOUT AN EXCHANGE UPGRADE POLICY --
I would willingly pay a nominal amount -- and it would keep Tom-Tom busy as well..

I'm sure you realise why but if you don't, the phones are heavily subsidised and the income is derived from the contract. You can see how heavily by looking at the cost of a popular non-contract phone such as the n95 which is £400+! _________________ Darren Griffin |
