Ah so because you can't get it to work you assume it doesn't work! If you install as per the instructions it works perfectly. What camera database are you using? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Voice overall work fine and easy to put in folder but I want to have the "sounds" changed so that instead of beep beep it says camera warning ahead or police laser ahead , voices to add are easy but I have not found one for the sound option replacement that work. |

We understand what you want to do. Now can you answer Darrens question regarding which database you are using? Single File, Consolidated or Speed Zoned?
Also is this for the TomTom database or the PGPSW database? |

The voice file(s) should have the same name before the file type.
eg:
Gatso.bmp (camera map icon)
Gatso.ov2 (camera locations)
Gatso.ogg (voice file) |

I resolved it ...I was working on a TOM TOM v.1.3, all I did was dl the files to pc . copy then paste into sound file and not into the file with maps as instructed and it works . Only wish I have is that I am in Canada and the GATSO terminolgy is confusing so if any one has a good simple but not brief warning for camera light and for potential police laser warning I would appreciate it.
Again thanks to all for the assistance and cheers from Winnipeg, Manitoba |

You can make your own warnings HERE (opens in a new window)
Try the Lauren US English voice with something like:
Warning, possible police laser ahead
Will need a program to convert them into the .ogg file type. There are plenty of free ones on the net if you don't have one. |

Both methods should work.... fuller instructions for the "map folder" method are HERE
- they are for the PGPSW speed camera files but the procedure is just the same for any POI, you just have to make sure the names match correctly. (no double extensions etc.) and they MUST be .ogg format soundfiles.
More details for "sounds folder" method are HERE
Using this method, the filenames are not important and you can use .ogg or .wav files (but not .mp3)
By the way, to avoid confusion in the future, I think you mean FOLDERs, not "files" in your reply above. |
