Hi all,

One other thing I am having problems with on my tomtom 520t since upgrading to 8.300 is I can no longer make a wireless data link with my phone. All was working well until the upgrade is any one else having this problem!

I also have the computer voice problem and slow refresh rates.

Perform a hard reset (paperclip in the hole underneath) - then delete the pairing on your phone and try again.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for the advice I have tried this and get a message on my tomtom saying “An error occurred, unable to complete task. Do you want to set up your wireless data connection manually” I have also tried setting up the link manually it still will not work.

I have also tried on two different phones to make sure it was not the phone causing the problem.

Thank you for your help regarding this matter.

Neil.

What map version have you got installed to the device? unless its a v815 map there is no point running the 8,300 software, also there are other files that can be changed to improve the stuttering issue if you are using the v815 mapping although this will depend upon how much you want to mess around with the device.

My 720 and 930 were unusable until I altered a number of things on both devices, they have performed faultlessly since.

I will split this problem out to a different thread, whilst its related to the original we are wandering off topic discussing BT Phone related issues - Mike

Sorry, forgot to mention delete the phone from the TT as well!

If that fails then try resetting the TT to default settings - you will lose all favourites but worth a go and then having another try.

HI Mike,

I am using v815 maps. I am also quite happy to do what ever it takes to get it working properly.

I just need a little help and advice on how to do it.

Thanks
Neil.

Fully back up the device using Windows Explorer and then have a look through This post/ thread, it seems to have addressed the issues I was having, although I have no way of knowing if this would resolve the phone connection as well - Mike

Without being able to offer much advise on how to cure your problems, I can confirm that a Samsung D900 CAN pair with a TT Go running v8.300 as that is exactly what my son has now got running.

Can you just clarify please?

Are you unable to PAIR with the phone?

Or are you able to pair but unable to establish a data connection to your phone's network to download data, such as TomTom Traffic?

I'm ignorant in both cases as my phone did both without me doing anything other than saying Yes. But I just wanted to point out there are two questions here.

So somehow the network settings have changed? Can you still make a hands free telephone call TomTom/phone? The settings for GPRS data are down to your phone network I think. Perhaps there's been a change? Can you send picture messages from your phone (I think that seems to be one item related to the settings)? Sorry but this is not an area of expertise I'm familiar with. Just check the following questions, your answers will be useful for others to help you.

Can you make a hands free phone call from your TomTom?
Can you send a picture message from your phone?
Were you getting GPRS connection and data previously?

I'm surprised you'd bother getting GPRS Traffic if you have the 520T with RDS-TMC traffic antenna.
