I am getting a Blackberry Bold this Friday, and was aware of problems connecting with a TomTom 920 to receive the data/GPRS services (Traffic).
In my hunt to find a solution before it arrives, I found the following posted on Vofafone forum, a way of pairingwhich works in many cases, a Blackberry to an x20/x30 for GPRS/Data services.
Following is for Vodafone, you would need to contact your Provider for thier details
1. Blackberry should not be connected to the PC.
2. Pair Blackberry to TomTom via bluetooth.
3. You will now have to select manual data connection and complete following:
Access Point Name (APN) should be: internet
Dial: *99***1#
username: web
password: web
IP address and DNS: automatic
Log Script: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet" (this is case sensitive so make sure you type carefully)
I hope this is of help some of you _________________ Mick

Thanks for this - I have a Blackberry 8820. I have tried the above but afradi this doesn't work for me. I am however on BT Mobile, but this is the Vodafone Network. Maybe different settings are needed because of this?
Thanks anyway - worth a try. Handsfree calling works fine though!
Received my Blackberry Bold today ( a nice treat when new toys arrive early).
I also tried the settings given above to get GPRS and Traffic/Data services to work, they did not for me either.
But, playing around with settings, the following did work:
so for those on Vodafone with a Blackberry Bold these may work for you:
Access Point Name (APN) should be: internet
username:user@vodafone.netuser
password: user
Dial: *99***1#
IP address and DNS: automatic
Log Script: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet" (all as written)
Traffic now being recieved and all phonebook entries copied over too.
Hands free is also working, though yet to try it out - hopefully the TomTom stutter will have gone. _________________ Mick

Tried your new suggestions, but afraid they still don't work for me - at least you are getting somewhere!
I noticed I did not type settings to receive TomTom data services via GPRS correctly (corrected item in Bold):
The should have been:
Access Point Name (APN) should be: internet
username:user@vodafone.netuser
password: user
Dial: *99***1#
IP address and DNS: automatic
Log Script: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet" (all as written)
I also discovered that when pairing for GPRS, the Bluetooth connection may disconnect and this could be why so many pairings fail,
So keep a close eye during pairing on Blackberry and your TomTom. Best way I found is to ensure Hands free option is enabled before your set up wireless data _________________ Mick
