Help with tom tom 2.24

Hi all can some one tell me how you get north up on it as it drive s me mad tryed all tick boxs but still no good please can some one help asit blows your mind when you drive but in nav it works fine but not on the map side Question

That's by design. You cannot have North up in Navigator view (and why on earth would you want that? ). In Preferences, make sure that "Keep GPS position on screen" is ticked. That's to make sure the map follows you around in map mode.

Hi thanks but its not Navigator its the map side of things when iam going down a road all seems to be ok but when i say do a u turn and then go back the display will not change the map on the pda it looks like iam going down i need the map to stay with me going SAY up the screen on the PDA and not down as it need to swap as you can be seen moveing but the map on the pda is going down not up it drives me mad all i can do is to turn the pda around so i face the way i need but thats just MAD !!!! PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS IT WOULD BE COOL THANKS

In 'Navigator' mode, direction of travel is always UP. In 'Map' mode, the map is always oriented as North UP.

These ettings are fixed and cannot be altered. If you prefer to have direction UP then switch to 'Navigator' mode which is the intended default mode for driving anyway.

Hi thanks but the prob is that the map is not oriented as North UP thats the prob it drives me mad can you please please tell me what i am doing to make it like this ??? i have un installed and re installed so HELP !!!!!!!!

Its 2.24 have tryed all gps now on 3.01 but have been back to older ones as well

Are you sure you are in 'MAP' mode? At top left you should see a small Globe Icon and the word 'Map'.

If you are in Navigator mode as I suspect, then all you will see is a small White Arrow in the same place. To confirm you are in Navigator mode, tap anywhere on the map screen and the 'Navigator Menu' will appear.

Hi its not in nav its in the map the map works but say i drive up the road and do u turn and go back the map will not move back it the only way to get the corret view is to turn the pda around other wise it drives me mad but when on on nav its shows it ok but some times i need the map please can someone help as it drives me mad !!!!!!!!

Precisely!! In MAP mode you cannot achieve this, regardless of which direction you drive, NORTH will always be UP. So if you are driving South you will be travelling down the screen, travelling North, up the screen and East and West are right and left.

There is no option to change this. You are confusing NORTH UP with DIRECTION UP, they are not the same. Navigator Mode uses DIRECTION UP, Map Mode uses NORTH UP.

Hi iam in london but it drives me mad as you have to think about where you are going and the only way to do this is to turn the pda around so i face up on the display other wise i make wrong turn and thats not good if i turn the pda around its cool but cant keep doing that !!!! ps thanks for you help in this matter

So why not leave it in Navigator mode where your direction is always up screen?

As you can see we still don't understand your problem. Maybe you want to switch to 2D Navigator mode, so that it looks like Map mode, just with heading up instead of North up. Or maybe you can re-explain your problem to us.,
