my friend as just bought this unit
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001151/partNumber/5042087.htm
he wants to get the speed camera updates off here.
i told him he drops it in to the map folder. but he says his installed cameras are in another folder. also he says there is no memory card with it or a card slot
i will probably end up trying to update it for him
does this device have a card sd or other
were do i put the speed cameras and other pois and will the ones on here work
will this work with the camera voice warnings
any info will be appreciated |

That device only has internal Flash storage available, there is no SD card or SD card slot.
Being a TomTom it works in the same way as all the other devices, simply drop all the POI files, spoken alert ogg files and larger icon pack files into the map folder on the unit then configure the warnings. You might want to disable/ remove the TomTom Safety Cameras once the Speed Camera database from this site is installed to avoid the odd double warning - Mike |

~Just to add...
Yes, the pre-installed safety camera data is installed in a different folder, don't worry about it, normal POIs all go in the named map folder as usual (not in a folder which may be on the unit that is actually called "map"!)
Oh, and you disable the supplied camera data via the Plus Services menu, rather then the Manage POI menu. |

Use Windows Explorer to make a full backup of the device to the PC, this is probably the most vital step to perform with a new device.
I am not 100% sure on the memory capacity fitted to these devices, but I suspect it will be 512MB for the UK&ROI version - Mike |
