|
|
Hi yer,
On my old street pilot that was stolen the other week I downloaded free camera warnings off here some time ago.
I now have a new nuvi250W Europe and UK mapping and already have speed camera warnings on it here and when I used it in Spain.
HOW do I check FOC that I have the latest please?
This is the only update link I can find below?
Thanks.....

12 months unlimited speed camera warning updates for only £19.00
That's about 5p per day! _________________ BaZa ® |

have you ever subscribed to this site? it may be that you are seeing the garmin speed camera database installed on it already rather than ours?

No I haven't subscribed as that is £19 to do so and all I want to know is if I have the latest speed camera warnings on my new nuvi250W.
Cheers. _________________ BaZa ® |

if it was brand new in the box then you will have the garmin cameras dating back to when the device was made. to update, from memory, garmin want about £30 per region/country per year. PGPSW is £19 and you can download any regions you want (uk, europe, usa etc).
not sure how (if at all?) you can check the date of speed cameras from garmin.

If you go into Systems Settings About there are a couple of boxes underneath the unit id, firmware, GPS software etc.., Speed Camera and SiRF are the two that are usually displayed when you go onto this screen. Click the box and it will list the date of the Speed Cameras by Country - Currently Mar 08 is the most recent I have seen. |

As recent as that?????
The speed cam download page wrote: | 'PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database Version 6.092 12 Sep 08
This release sees 353 static and mobile speed cameras added/modified across the various speed camera databases'. |
That's 353 changes in less than a month to our database! How up to date does a database released in March sound now???? But perhaps I am biased as a lifetimer who does not have to shell out £19 a year for as many downloads as I like for as many devices I have in my household.
You work it out |

Is this really the latest update from Garmin for subscribed users or the latest version of the pre-installed trial version? _________________ Darren Griffin |

You need to register at MyGarmin to get the latest cameras with a subscription or to get your 30 day trial.
Once logged in goto My Extras, Subscriptions, Safety Camera Subscription then click the "Activate your free trial link". You'll need to connect your Nuvi to activate and download the latest cameras. |

This is a no-brainer surely !
I don't care how up to date Garmins camera database is , it won't be as good as the one you get here...............and you're saving money. _________________ Keith

Hi all, this is my 1st post (so please go easy on me)
I 2nd keithjeffreys post (its a no brainer).
Last week I bought my 1st SatNav. A Nuvi250.
I looked at the options for speed camera updates and decided I'd rather invest my hard earner cash in Pocket GPS World camera database, so yesterday I subscribed, downloaded the database and Im very happy now..
Thx Pocket GPS World!!! |

Hi Stopi.
Welcome to the PGSW forums. You have made a sound choice of databases. |

Darren
The 31st March 08 database was the preinstalled version - I don't even bother registering for the 30 day free trial as I use the database from this dite |
