I am about to buy a new car. All those I have looked at have built in Sat Nav systems. In particular I was looking at an Audi A6 and asked if it was possible to load POI into it such as a speed camera data base. I was told that this is not possible. Is this the case? Are there any built in systems that allow POI to be imported? I like my Navman with the ability to load in POI and would miss this feature.

Stick with the Navman and get the car without the built in Nav unit they are pathetic in comparison, if it saves you money all well and good - I would even ask for a reduction in price because I wouldn't want such rubbish in my car - Mike

No built in system has the flexibility for some add on features, like speed cams pois etc, to my knowledge. Some have additional features and or updates but they tend to be expensive. I have Smart Nav built in but the costs are very very high for extras so I don't use.

Suggest you try out the built in unit and if it covers what you want then fine, if not buy your own stand alone unit. Prices are always coming down and you can move to another vehicle. I would suggest TomTom, I know they get a lot of flak but they are still the leader for a reason
