My TomTom Go 710 had two map folders on it :-
GB plus major roads of WE
Western Europe
I downloaded the latest UK map from TomTom's web site and I now have 3 folders :-
GB plus major roads of WE
Western Europe
United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
I have changed the map in preferences to the latest UK map but have now lost my favourites ? Is it a case of simply copying certain files from one folder to another ?
Also do I need to duplicate the speed camera files in all 3 folders ?
After doing a backup can I simply delete the WE folders or am I best buying a new SD card and putting the new UK map on that.
Sorry for so many questions, spent about 4 hours last night going around in circles and trying to find threads for each question I had and got more confused
One last one, if I fit a new SD card, how do I start with a nice clean set of data folders with my latest UK Map ? |

I'm not an expert but I'd say yes because the TomTom will look for them in the currently active map folder |

Also do I need to duplicate the speed camera files in all 3 folders ? | MapSettings.cfg file, in the Map Folders, will contain any Favourites for that Map.
Usually it just a case of Copy/Paste from one to the other.
Also the same for the Speed Cameras. The MapSettings.cfg file also contains the POI Warning settings

You can Copy/Paste the 'loose files' (those not contained in Folders) to a Backup Folder on the PC, and then all the Folders, except for the 2 you don't want.
Or you can get HOME to Install both the Application, and the Map, from the Items on my computer Menu. _________________ Richard

That would explain why I didn't seem to have any Speed Camera Warning sounds on the way to work this morning......... |
