What is this?

I have recently noticed an icon which looks like a map with a pen permanently on my TomTom GO 700 screen about half way up on the left hand side.

What is this? What does it do?

That sounds a bit like the MapShare icon.

If you go into the MapShare preferences, you can select whether to or not to have this showing all the time and it sounds like it's currently set as 'on' on your unit
