TomTom Go Set owner and password

hi all,
just upgraded to version 7 and found the set owner function.
couple of q's, does this really offer any protection or could it be reset by anyone who nicks it?

and if i forget the pin or type it in wronf too many times will it make my GO a doorstop?!!

It doesn't offer much in way of theft protection and there is no restriction on the number of times a number is entered, you could in theory work from 0000 to 9999 to gain access to the device - Mike

Waste of time. Easy to reset....(but I'm not going to say how here!)

And doesn't prevent it being nicked in the first place!
