Hi Guys
Looking for a bit of advice
Been using the liz spoken ogg files with TT7 on my 520, just up-dated the device to TT v 7.481 and now it looks like TT have disabled the abilty to play the ogg files.
Now when I select Warn when near POI I am given 4 choices 2 computer generated 1 standard tone and 1 record own message.
I cannot find how to get it to play the liz ogg file.
Is this a known bug or is there a work around for it.
Thanks
Paul |

You should get an option "Is this the sound you want to select?" Just accept that and it will use the .ogg file as long as it has the same name as the OV2 file except for the.ogg extension. _________________ TT Go Essential |

It is not uncommon for a new application version to dump your warnings and you need to reconfigure them.
When doing so, you are NOT offered those four choices, it simply says "Is this the sound you wish to use" to which you must answer YES, even though there is no sound and it then picks up the OGG file warning. Perhaps you answered NO because it didn't play Liz's warning to you? _________________ Dennis

And if all else fails, give your device a soft reset and retry. .ogg files ARE still supported. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the replies guys
Got it sorted
When the new software went on not only did it not load the voice I was using (Jane) like everyone else had found but it also changed from the UK map I was using which is installed on the hard drive to the Western Europe map that is installed on a memory card. which had the speed cam files but no liz sound files.

The TomTom Home software is smart enough to copy the ov2 and bmp files from an old map folder to your new map folder without intervention, however it still needs the dunces cap at times like this as it will miss copying the ogg files.
That said using ogg files is a "Back Door" option to gain added functionality so, as you have found (by the sounds of it) copying the ogg files to the new map folder and configuring the Warn When Near POI for each Speed Camera category is sufficient - Mike |
