Its the forthcoming release from Navman - the latest in the excellent S Series, with the new SmartST 2008 2nd Edition software (not yet available) which included 3D Monuments, and Live POIs (ie. the S50 3D will connect - via any Bluetooth enabled mobile phone - to the web and find live, bang up to date info on virtually anything from a local pizza shop to a business, etc. - then take you there, or allow you to phone them direct from your sat nav unit)

It beats the out of date POIs the Navteq and TeleAtlas can only hope to keep a year or so out of date

The S50 3D will have TeleAtlas 2007.10 mapping (the already available S90i, S80, S70, S50, S30 has 2007.4)

It will now be released July 2008 (late July at earliest I guess, but Navman now say "In Store July 2008" which looks more promising than usual)

You can take a look at the new Mios on You Tube which show the Navman 2008 2nd Edition Software - Mio Moov

Having a Navigon, a TomTom and a Garmin as well as my S90i, I couldn't recommend the S Series more highly. Its no where near perfect, but better routing and visuals than the TomTom, better directions, vocals, routing and visuals than the Garmin, and less prone to crashing than my Navigon (and I can see the on screen text). Downsides are slow interface (fine, but a little lacking in response speed to keep presses), no lane advisor information, and lack of twice yearly (or better) map updates

I would probably not wait and grab yourself a bargin like the S90 at Amazon for under £170 or an S50 for £110
