Can anyone point me to any previous posts on how to improve the performance of my 720. When I say performance I am referring to the speed it updates when you are driving along, quite a few times I have found that I get to a junction with a couple of exits or a roundabout and it's not entirely clear which one to take as the 720 hasn't quite got there. I think it is also referred to as lagging. I used to get a similar problem on the Navigator 5 on my PDA but this was when I had too many POI's visible, if I removed a few it worked ok. I have only got about 10 POI's visible on the 720.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try disabling the POI files as they can and do slow the map refresh rate down on the PNA units if you add loads to it. I suggest you use the warn when near POI instead, as per the TT Nav 5 & 6 which should fix it - Mike

Thanks Mike, haven't got loads of POI's though. Does moving files to a memory card and freeing up space on the device help?

POI files have to reside in the map folder which has to remain in one place, it can be either internal memory or SD card, you cannot split the map file or its contents to span two locations. I first noticed the lagging on my 720 after installing about 100 POI Categories, so this could be same issue you have - Mike

There's also update RATE.
If your screen updates about three times a second as you are driving along a straight section of road (get a passenger to count it like taking a pulse), then that is about right.

My 520 updates at about 10 times per second when I am doing about 150MPH. Laughing Out Loud
