I have a icn750 and smartst 2006 software, according to the compactability list the file ext .asc is for this version so i have become a member payed me fees and download the database file. in the instructions is says the following Note: Newer versions of the software, by default, ask for 'Files of type: CSV Files (*.csv)' You might have to put *.* or *.asc and press 'Open' in the File Name window in order to show the asc files.

now when i go to open text it does not allow me to change the file ext from .csv to *.* or *.asc therefore im unable to open this file

Are you putting the *.* in the box where it says "File name:"? Doing this and pressing Return should list all the files, be they .asc, .csv or .bmp. You then just double-click on the file you want.

Other than that, you can use Windows Explorer to change the extension of the filename to .csv if you want.
