Hi all..... what would the sd card slot be used for on the S90, I have had a 2 gig card in mine and it has some sat nav ordnance survey maps on it that I used to use on my pin 300 I cant seem to be able to find the card in the menu system.

I would like to use the S90 as a walking sat nav and able to use my ordnance software, would that be possible?

No, not without a serious hack...!

The SD card supplies support for extra map data (ie. USA, Australia, etc.) which would not all necessarily fit on to the onboard memory

It can also be used for POIs, NavPix etc. if wanted

For day to day use though, not really required

Thats a shame, would have been nice to have used it for walking too, why on earth do they limit the unit? I have a navman pin and you can use any software on it

One is a PDA the other a dedicated GPS Auto Navigator

The first very flexible and multi-featured

The second, like most of todays GPS units, dedicated to doing one job, but making it more straight forward, and less prone to errors and speed issues. Also less expensive to make

If you are really keen, checkout the navman unlocked web site. (use search, "Navman Unlocked"). I have not been there for a while but would be surprised if they have not got a hack for the S series.
