Please help...
I got no real idea what I am doing or even if it is possible....
I got given a Pocket Loox 410. It already has TomTom Navigator Ver 5 on it. I ordered a GPS Bluetooth device and thought I would turn it on and it would work....
I have paired the pda with the device no problem, it adds a serial device to my shortcuts. When i go into TomTom is tells me there is no GPS device. I go into "Change Preferences" and into "Show GPS Status" and then into "configure". I then select "Other Bluetooth GPS", I get a message telling me to pair my devices, it then shows a screen asking where it is connected. It gives me 2 options for bluetooth, I have tried both to no avail...
Could anyone possibly give me any advice where I am going wrong.
Thanks an advance |

Welcome to the forum.
When you select the port within TomTom it goes back to the GPS status screen, top right is a small yellow/ blue disk, wait for 30 seconds and see if it starts to rotate, if it does take it all outside and wait for a few minutes for the device to acquire the signal (20 mins tops), if the little yellow/ blue disk is stationary try the other port offered in the list - Mike |

Thanks for the reply Mike. Tried both settings and the disk doesnt move. The bluetooth options are for port numbers. Port 8 inbound or port 6 outbound. I presume I need inbound on 8? (even though the blue/yellow disc still doen't move) |

It is the outbound connection you want, when you are in the Windows/ Bluetooth screen on the PDA there is an icon for your GPS listed, can you tap and hold the GPS icon and select "Connect" from the pop-up, the icon should now have green arrows under it, start TomTom and try selecting the GPS Status/ set-up again, you should only have to do the manual connect once, after that the program will do the rest for you - Mike |

Still cant get it to work, I have noticed now the bluetooth keeps disconnecting at random times. I have used the Loox to connect to my phone so the bluetooth should be ok? Do you think it could be a dodgy GPS unit? Cant find anyway of testing it?
Thanks for your help |

I got hold of a usb bluetooth device to test the GPS unit and it works fine. Does anyone have any advice on what might be wrong with the Loox? Could it be a settings issue in the bluetooth manager?
Thanks in advance. |
