I was testing both a Magellan Maestro and the TT920.

I know that when approaching a turn, the Maestro would show a smaller side window showing the manuever map in more detail.

Does the TT920 have such a function? If so, do I have to change a preference or what? Still mucking around with the unit figuring it out.

Thanks.

Here's a screen shot from my 720 which is the same as a 920.

The wide dark bar on the right is the Status Bar, which can be arranged at the right, or at the bottom of the screen. The amount of information displayed here is configurable. On mine, reading down from top to bottom the entries are ....

Next turn direction. (Not configurable, it always shows)
Distance to that next turn. (Not configurable, it always shows)
Distance to Destination.
My speed (I was stationary at the time).
Time now.
Estimated Time of Arrival.
5 bars indicating strength of satellite signal.

Bottom Centre of screen shows ...

Road I'm on now (Hill Wootton Road)
Next road I'll turn into (B4115)

Tapping the plus or minus signs at top of screen zooms in and out on the map.

This is the 3D view. There's also a 2D view which I don't use.

Thanks. I may tried placing it on the side - so far I've been using the bottom display but maybe I need less map on either side and more at the bottom.

And, yes, I've seen that "top" arrow but it was not as outstanding a "maneuver" hint than the Maestro so I was just wondering if there was more. Your answer fixes it.

F2,

This can be achieved (sort of) by telling TT to turn off the map screen above a certain speed. With the map off it gives you a large turn indicator and distance indication.

This is handy if you don't want the distractions at higher speeds.

WAIT! I seek clarification of your original and updated posts?

My TT is currently talking with my computer so I won't want to UNhook it.

Thanks

T2 to activate the "turn off map" feature do this:-

Tap map on screen, then tap;
Change Preferences
Safety preferences
done (options screen 1)
done (sounds 1)*
done (sounds 2)*
done (speed Limits)*
done (speed limit sound)*
done (driving Left/Right)*
TURN OFF MAP DISPLAY - Select "above certain speed"
Set speed you require
Click done again.

Items with a * may/maynot appear in your menu list depending on your settings/selections/versions.

The screen will now show: Large turn indicator (where the map used to be) enlarged distance to next instruction (where the turn indicator used to be) and the same speed, times and next turn roads as before. All POI warnings still take place (eg Speed cameras etc. - Flashes in top Left corner).

Hope this helps, mate
