I have a TomTom One. Is there any way I can switch off the directional instructions, but leave the warning, like the speed camera warnings, switched on?

One way is to Un-Tick the Option to Only Warn if on Route in Warn When Near.

Unfortunately this will give you false Warnings from neighbouring roads.

There used to be a Silent Voice circulating but I'm not sure if it's still available.

I downloaded the silent voice as i think it could be useful to me. This might be a silly question but it does not downoad like any other voice i have and i cannot get the 3 files that are required from it. It downloads in an .rar file. Any tips on what i am doing wrong.

You need to use a program that can decompress rar files.
