Been lurking round these forums, picking stuff up, and took the dive and bought a ipaq 2210 with haicom 330cf receiver (yes, its cheap and tacky and the lids fallen off already, but it works : )
The problem I have is, I've also bought Destinator but my god its crap. I've only used 1 gps system before, and that was a Garmin Pilot 3, but i couldnt afford it at @ £650 and hey, the pda can do loads of other things the garmin cant.
Didnt realise that meant the pda cant do travel software as good as the garmin. The crappy thing takes me down every backstreet known to man.
ANYWAY, the point of this rant is , which is the most accurate gps software with the only caveat being it _must_ have voice comms.
Thanks in advance,
Peter, getting lost in style.
ps, very helpful site. I'd picked up enough stuff in a few days of reading to feel confident enough to buy something i never owned before.
pps, roundabouts , dont get me started about roundabouts asjkdasjdaskjdsak

Mmm, Destinator has suffered from some major issues in its latest release (what version do you have?)
To answer your question I could really do with knowing where in the world you are! Can you add this info to your profile and reply? _________________ Darren Griffin
Its version3 for uk . I thought i'd upgrade to europe major roads later, but it doesnt seem worth it. Ok, so I live in the sticks near durham, but the garmin managed fine once you spent 20 minutes clicking in the letters
I think the problem is, around here its mainly b roads that you can do 60mph on, and then roads only the locals use that you might be able to do 30mph, and it cant tell the difference. (the garmin managed tho)
If it takes the same type of route abroad as it does in the uk, i'll be opening gates, crossing vineyards and driving down beaches.
Think I'll see what pcworld have in, just for the 'easy' return procedure
Regards
Peter (considerably more skint than he was)
