Hi everyone, sorry if this is a dum question but im new to this. I have a tomtom go 300 bought last year ,and have always had a four digit code to access when starting up.

I have the code but when i enter it now it still asks for the code. The screen displays my address and asks for the password but will not accept it. I have trie the reset button but nothing. I have contacted tomtom and they say i need to send it to them for repair/reset.

Is there a way to get around this. Dont really want to send it to tomtom as you can buy these units for about £90 now, so repair would be uneconomical. Thanks for your time.

Does the screen look as if it is accepting your inputs i.e. does it look as though the buttons are being registered on screen when you input your PIN?

I'm afraid that talking you through bypassing the PIN security is not something we will do here for obvious reasons.

Hi, the numbers turn black when pressed, so i know the screen is working. Do you know where I can get it fixed. I have nothing to hide. I am willing to let anyone take a look. Thanks a lot.

Your problem is that people set a security PIN in order to prevent it being used by anybody who acquires it by foul means. As we have no way of satisfying ourselves that you are the legal owner, NOT the foul acquirer, we decline to help - you'd want us to decline like this if you had suffered at the hands of a foul acquirer.

Maybe consider going back to the place you bought it, together with your receipt, and ask them for help?

Thanks for your help. I have already tried halfords which is where it came from but because it was bought in march 2006 they told me they could send it to tomtom. I was hoping to avoid the cost. Probably easier to sell it on ebay and buy a new one. Thanks.

Hi, all. Finally managed to unlock my tomtom. I somehow managed to change one of the four digits in the password. After lots of attempts I finally cracked it. Thanks.Just thought I would let you know.
