|
|
I've got a TT One, which uses SD cards. I have just bought the US and Canada maps on DVD (genuine TT with a Product Code card.) I now need to create an SD card to use in the states. My idea is to use my existing back-up to create another Europe card, make sure it works on the Europe map, then delete the European map and copy the DVD onto that card. I presume that I will then need to get an activation code based on my device and product codes.
Will this work, or is there a better way? |

your approach sounds like the best possible solution. _________________ Lutz

Just had a look on the DVD. Within the "map" folder are 92 separate CAB folders, totalling over 7GB!!
The back of the DVD box says it includes, "regions, states, or seamless maps for door to door, coast to coast, and cross border navigation" So it looks as though the collection provides multiple mapping options. Any ideas which I need to use to get whole country coverage?
There are no written instructions and the pictograms show a Tom Tom card being put into the One, the One then connected to a PC, DVD into the PC and them Home being used to move everything onto the card. |

HOME should give you the option of which Map you want to Install. It should list all that it finds on the DVD. There will either be a more info link, or there may be a mouse over pop-up, stating what that File is.
From memory I think the complete country is about 900MB. _________________ Richard

I used my TomTom in the USA earlier this year, and it was fantastic. I first backed up my existing SD card. I bought a large new SD card with sufficient room for my existing maps and the North America map. I used Home to copy the entire content of the existing card to the new card. I then used Home to add the US map. The DVD gives a selection of regional maps or one of the whole of North America. I used the entire North America map. Home then authenticated the new map with the TomTom server.
In the Prefs menu of the TomTom I can choose whether to use the UK or the US mapping.
