Having just read a review for the Tomtom one 3rd edition, I have just ordered one from Halfords online.
Halfords link
Having read a bit more, I am concerned that there is a difference between a V3 (that I have ordered) and a 3rd edition. The spec given on the Halfords site seems to be different to that of the 3rd edition (ie the Halfords site quotes an SD card slot, but I understand that the 3rd edition uses only internal memory.
Could someone who understands all of the various models tell me exactly what I have ordered please? |

It's a bit confusing because the Halfords site seems to have combined the features of the two! What is referred to as the V3 on this site is the "Mk2"; the "3rd Edition" one is the "Mk3" and might well be identified as a V6 in TomTom HOME! (The logic here is that the XL is also known as the ONE V5.)
So, looking at the Halfords spec, the 3rd Edition can make use of MapShare, a TMC module and Help Me, none of which were available for the V3. It also says there's an SD slot, Bluetooth connection and Itinerary Planning, which aren't available on the 3rd Edition.
I think that Halfords are as confused as the rest of us! _________________ Tim |

Thanks Tim - now I'm really confused!!!
I've also ordered an active mount from another source which said fits v2 & V3. Are the v3 and 3rd editions physically the same or could I have a problem if it is a 3rd edition?
Tomtom really should have a clearer numbering system |

For anyone thinking of buying from Halfords, mine arrived today and it's definitely the 3rd edition version. |

So are you going to ask them where to put the SD card, and how to connect via bluetooth? _________________ Tim |
