The important part is to connect via it's cradle and USB to the PC where it will show up in My computer as another drive and copy the contents to a folder on your PC. Preferable to another HD drive if you have more than one. Then you have a copy of all the original files that you can copy back to the Go should it all go pear shaped.

Welcome to the forum, the back up is indeed the most important thing you should do, I do this before I even start to use a device these days, for some other information (including how to back up the device) have a read through some of the FAQ pages which are indexed Here - Mike

For the issue with the phones the handset needs to be on the compatibility list on the TomTom web site to ensure it works to a specific level, not all phones that do work are listed, but those on the list will work, your n95 isn't listed but the 6230i is see Here

Three is down to your choice, but I have listed a few of the differences

a/ Price the PGPSW offering is £2 per month/ £19 per year, so on cost grounds it is cheaper.
b/ Updated considerably more frequently, typically of late the updates have been around every two weeks.
c/ Better accuracy, I have tried both and know which one I trust.
d/ Spoken Alerts that tell you the type of camera and applicable speed limit.
f/ Configurable distance to the camera when the warning is first triggered.
g/ Inclusion of Mobile camera sites.

a = your call
b/= Fact
c/ = Fact, that quite a few others will verify
d, f and g are only possible with the database from this site.

As for trusted sites for POI files have you had a look at the POI Download page on this site? Click Here for the page - Mike

My 720 plays mp3 files from the SD card quite happily, just create a folder in the root of the SD card named mp3 (no capital letters) and put the mp3 files in it, when the device boots up it will use the files stored internal and on the Memory Card - make sure the SD card has a decent read speed though or the device might reject it - Mike

seems like we may have found a cure for this in noraml operation any phonecall was difficult to hear and had a continious buzz 2 things sorted it out

1 change the volume whilst on the phone it is a seperate volume control than the one which gives direction and seems like it can only be altered whilst using the phone

2 put the phone as near as possible to the tom tom the further away it is the quieter and more buzzy the call is, could be it only has low power bluetooth transmitter reciever

worked for us so far fingers crossed
