Just got my copy from Halfords.
The card with the product code on says it's Maps of Western Europe ver 6.5 (not 6.6?)
I'm running PPC version TT 5.210 (5431) I've installed the map using TT Home from the DVD, but I can't see the new map when I'm using TT
According to the matrix on this link http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-map-versions.php
6.5 isn't compatable with TT5.210 (but 6.6 is compatible)
Is there any way to find out what version on my DVD is ?
If it won't work with V5.210 is it worth me upgrading to V6 ?

There is a .pna File in the Map Folder. It's a Text File which you can Open with Notepad.
The third line tells you the version and the fourth, the build. _________________ Richard

I can confirm that the maps are in fact version 650 (build 1127)
The packaging on the DVD does say it's for GO series, ONE & Rider
I assumed that the PND maps would work on my PPC hardware.
There is no mention on the Halfords website or any where on the package itself as to what the map version is.
You have to break the seal to find out
Does anybody know if it is possible to obtain the TT6 (PPC version) application to use with these maps?
Suppliers of cracked copies need not bother replying (I'm simply not interested)
If these maps won't work with my harware setup I'll just see if any of my colleagues (who do have TT PND's) would like to buy them.
Question for Vicky who started this thread, where did you get the map version from?
Don't worry I'm not blaiming anybody, it was worth a try for a tenner _________________ HTC Desire S - Vodafone

Hi
As to the map version, The one I got was V6.6 (Halfords Mansfield).
so maybe they have mixed stock.
Maybe worth checking with them to see if they have the more recent version. |

Vicky,
The only problem is that there is no version number on the outside of the box :x
Don't think the staff of Halfords will be too impresed if I keep opening all their boxes
Did your's display the version number on the outside ?? _________________ HTC Desire S - Vodafone

Thinking about it, no it did not,
it was only as I installed it I found out it V6.60
I had sold my 910 and just wanted cheap maps for a PDA so figured it was a bargain anyway! |

Looks like you struck lucky then
I've already got european maps from the TT5 upgrade, so I'll just cover my losses and sell it at work
Don't fancy paying full price to TT for out of date maps.
Why don't they offer V6.6 maps at a lower price than 6.75
Think I'll give a serious look at Igo 8 when ot comes out _________________ HTC Desire S - Vodafone

Hi All
I am very new to satnav, so perhaps someone more experienced can tell me if these bargain maps will work with my Tomtom One V2, UK and Republic of Ireland version?
I assume I will have to purchase a larger SD card, but that's not a prob as long as the maps will work.
Cheers

Keith the map you already have is most probably 660 (Tap the sat strength bars followed by the box that mentions verion, this will then display the current map details) so I don't think these cheap sell offs will be any newer than you already have. The very latest map is 675 but that will cost considerably more than £9,99 - Mike |

Hi Mike
Thanks for the quick reply.
The map I have is only the UK and Republic of Ireland, whereas the Halford's "discount special" DVD is the whole of Western Europe.
I don't mind it not being the latest version, as long as it will actually work with my Tomtom One V2.
Regards
