Hi All
I'm after some guidance please.
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact III with Copilot Live 6 installed on it and i am having major problems with the speed camera alerts.
I have installed the database from here as the ALK one wouldn't show the icons on the map but would flash up the little box in the corner of the screen, i now have the icons showing as i drive along, but no little yellow box and audible warning plus the box in the menu for safety alerts has disappeared.
Has anyone got any ideas what i have done wrong? or is it supposed to be like this?
Yes i have followed the instructions from numerous threads, tried many things, but cant seem to see anything to rectify my problem.
Many Thanks
Me! |

Reloaded the safety camera from ALK and i have my warnings back, with icons, but only the yellow box flashes up for the ALK cameras and not the PocketGPS ones, these still appear on the map but are only announced by the POI screen. Not perfect i know but all helps. |

It sounds as though you haven't renamed the camera files.
For POI's to be recognised as safety cameras and therefore trigger the yellow box, the files must begin with 'safetycamera'.
E.g. safetycamera_gatso_60.ov2 |

OK. Because you asked so nicely...
Start by downloading and unzipping the files.
I use the 'UK - Speed Zoned Complete'
Rename all of the ov2 and bmp files.
From the command line in windows, cd to the directory containing the files and enter: -
ren pocketgps_uk_*.* safetycamera_*.*
Or use one of the free renaming programs such as A.F.5
Delete the AO*.* files.
Explore to ...COPILOT,save and delete the 9 files that begin with ao
Copy the renamed files.
Copy the renamed ov2 and bmp files to the COPILOT,save directory
Start CoPilot.
When the files have been integrated, check all of your settings in CoPilot. |

Hi again
A big thank you for helping me out on this, much appreciated.
Ok, heres the story so far.
I followed your instructions, and i now have the yellow box pop up etc, but i have lost the icons on the map. If i drag the map around to where i know the speed cameras are, there is just a square white box on the map. If i tap it, it comes up with the name, ie mobile123456@60 (or something like that) but no picture. When i drive with guidance on, no box or picon appears, but it does come up with the warnings.
I am thinking that the file i downloaded may not be right for my MDA? and now i have a better idea of what i need to do, should i try one of the other files?
Or, delete copilot and reinstall and start again.
Thanks again for all your help, and also that AF5 programme works great! |

Disappearing camera icons is a known (to us) problem with the latest update.
Several users have tried fixes with some success but I'm afraid that mine still only show when I'm actually moving.
If you can see a square but no picture you could try changing the bitmaps to a different resolution. There are several threads about this such as this one.
However if you get the warnings that's 90% of the battle. |

ok, heres the story so far............
i now have icons (but only in 2D mode, none shown in 3D) for camera, both static and mobile. AND i have the yellow box come up with the current speed, chime but no speed limit next to it................and does anyone know exactly what the chime means???
I deleted all the previous efforts and started again with the consolidated file from here and now it works, well as best as i can get it................
i'm going to have a play with the other versions and see what happens.
watch this space...... |
