Hi I have got an original Tom Tom One (not sure if they call it classic one or not?), I did a softwarte version update some time ago (possibly 5.40 or something like that) and haven't updated the system in a while.

After having a check on the TomTom support / download section of the site I know that all the updates now need to be done using the Home software that I installed quite a while ago but am skeptical about allowing software to detect whether my navigation system needs updating or not. Previously there was the latest version as per the tom tom support area for each product and it stated there what version the update would support etc etc and I did the update that way. Is tom tom Home fairly reliable and stable to ensure the latest system update, also does anyone know what the latest version is for Tom Tom One systems?

I did notice that tom tom dont even offer the original one as a product now, does this mean it wont be supported in the future as a result?

I did try to search around but posts sempt to be about the newer ones versions.

Thanks,
Michael

TomTom Home is ok for software updates but its best avoided for anything else. e.g. do full backup using Windows instead.
Oldboy has some of the older (but newer than yours) firmwares on his page, if you want to put on a newer one manually.

Make a full backup of SD card before doing anything.

TT, at the moment, are supporting all the PND product lines. Even the Classic GO is still supported. Smile
