There seems to be a fixation about the One map version today see This Thread for my earlier answer (and by the way its a TeleAtlas map NOT NT- Mike |

With all due respect mike i believe WE 675 1409 is a teleatlas and both 660 1256 and 675 1322 are Navteq, both the latter versions are more up to date in road layout and spellings than 675 1409, certainly in my area.
check Dead Lane area in Loughborough for example, it hasnt been there for quite a while and the rushes road layout, NT has it covered. |

Following the announcment a while back that TomTom are no longer going to use the Navteq maps and the more recent announcment that they intend buying TeleAtlas I think the NT map you have might be the very last one they supply, is it even still available other than pre loaded to a One Europe (The One XL units certainly shipped with TA maps from new) - Mike |

Not sure of the facts that you state mike, but the point i was trying to make is that V660 is more up to date than V675 certainly in certain areas where i can see, and not neccesarily the latest, perhaps i should have made that more clearer. |

And I can fully understand you observation that the 660 is more accurate than the 675 in places, for example certain errors were corrected in the 660 map local to myself, the errors re-appeared when the 675 was released - not too sure why this happens but it does.
The NT vs TA mapping debate is a long running one, personally I prefer the TA maps as the NT maps have contained a number errors in my area, obviously the reverse of this situation is the case for yourself.
Electronic maps will never be 100% but once the map share launches fully with the newer devices about to hit the shops we can but hope for a considerably better map, with users able to submit corrections that are available quickly to other users this is a step in the right direction - lets face it we all want the best map available, the more users updating the map the better - but it has taken TomTom to step in the right direction and make the facility available for use. - Mike |
