hi i was wondering if any one can help us out here, i use tom tom 2 in my van but recently i,ve changed vans to a large one which has a 24v cig lighter , my tom tom2 nav will blow up , or cables will heat and melt, anyway is there some sort of adaptor to drop the 24volt to 12 volts ????

please anyone let me know, cheers........

I would suspect there's probably a step down transformer for the accessory socket to output it as 12volts because nearly all devices you'll want to plug into the accessory socket will require 12 volts so I don't think it will be too much of a problem.

I know we have a lot of people here who have trucks and also some people in America that have 24v batteries and haven't said they've had a problem, but you may want to check with your garage or try plugging something in a little cheaper to see if it has a problem first.

if you go in to one of the truckstops of the m1 or in to moto the usually have a 12v24v reducer this will plug in to the cigar lighter and enable you to have 12v
if all else
fails try www.cdc.co.uk or www.roadpro.co.uk

this reducer should only cost around £25 or so
