I purchased a Leadtek 9532 in December and it has worked without fail until last weekend (using TomTom on XDA2). Acquisition times have been excellent.
Since last week acquisitions times have been pretty slow, with cold TIFFS of 10-30mins, but once a lock is made it is not lost.
Last night I tried WinFast Navigator which confirmed the cold acquisition timings - although 5 tries revealed 8 min locks.
I have been in touch with the supplier of the Leadtek who was more than helpful and are willing to test it back at base, but they queried if I had any recent issues with the XDA 2 battery.
They are getting reports from other XDA 2 users of similar issues.
They have a hunch that if the battery power is low, or the backup battery is low, then the XDA 2 is taking too much power through its circuitry which is causing a low voltage supply to the leadtek which is causing the problems.
This kind of rings a bell - as although my battery indicators are never less than 50% for main - and my backup battery has never been allowed to less than 100% - I did get a message last week on the XDA 2 that said - "backup battery is low - recharge". When I looked it was showing 100% so just put it down to a PDA glitch - but maybe this is the cause of the above.
The Leadtek is left on permanently in the car, and when I return in the AM or PM the led is flashing green - but now - as soon as I plug the XDA 2 in - the led flashes red - which appears to support the above theory ?

Has anyone else had similar problems ??

There was something recently about problems with Destinator - somehow it seemed to be capable to bring down the GPS receiver when started. Thinking about it it may well be the case that the application is messing either with the power supply or (more likely) with the signal level. Interesting, isn't it?
