But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Hi,
Is there anyone here who can enlighten me as to Mapopolis' policy regarding map updates if you buy the "download maps for a year'" option? For example, if Navtech bring out an updated map (not one with new features, but just "bugfixes") can you download that within the year's subscrition period to replace one previously downloaded?
Also, can anyone tell me if it's possible to easily download large-ish numbers of maps in one go, or do you have to (for the UK, for example) go through county-by-county as you do with the demo maps? And I hope there isn't the same download limit of two maps per 'session' as there is for the demo maps either?

If there are map updates during your subscription year then you get these updates as part of your subscription without having to pay again. Mapopolis will inform us when this happens and what areas are affected.
Once you subscribed you can download zip files that contain all the individual maps of a country or state. You don't have to download them one by one unless that's what you want to do.
There is no download limit once you are a subscriber. _________________ Lutz
This seems to need a bit of clarifiation. Mapopolis's business model is that we give free updates to the viewers to any customer, but free updates to the maps during one's subscription interval are not given away.
This is because there are royalty rights held by the provider of our raw data, who, incidentally, makes no distinction between corrections and expansions.
There are two exceptions to this policy, however. One occurs if we release a new map set within thirty days of one's purchase (subscriptions only, not individual maps). Then we do give the customer a free update to the new version. The other exception is for an existing customer who wishes to upgrade and who has a current subscription. For these people, we'll make a upgrade offer based on the purchase price and subscription time remaining.
We try to excercise fair business practices, and when in doubt, tend to side with our customers.
