I have just recently bought a Tom Tom Go 510 and I am a little confused ( it doesn't take much ). Is the camera database suitable for this and also which version of POICapture do I use? Thanks Alan

Either TomTom OV2 or TomTom Home will work.
"OV2" version - you just download and unzip the files and add them yourself to the TomTom map folder using Windows.
"Home" version - you download and unzip the files and then use TomTom's Home program to add them to your Go.
Most people on here use the ov2 method, so if you need assistance, you'll probably get better help!

POI Capture isn't needed to run the speed cameras database, but is a handy way to report new cameras. You can also do the same thing manually, by adding a favourite at your present GPS position as you pass the camera.
For a 510 you'll want v 1.06G from here:

but I'd suggest getting the camera database up and running first, and give yourself time to get used to it for a while.

I would start by making sure you have a back up of the device before adding anything to it. There are a number of pages that you will find useful linked from This One,

Backing up #1
Using a different memory card #8
Installing speed cameras #4
Using spoken voice camera warnings #5
Removal of the TomTom camera database #13

Are just a few I think you should have a read of - Mike
